Enough is enough!!

In 2022 I entered the Lester Prize. I was not successful but it was an interesting experience as I went back to Portraiture. I never think of myself as a portrait painter but realised that when I was producing works for my exhibition- the Leaving of Ukraine I actually produced 70 small portraits of Refugees that had emigrated to Australia after WW11.

This portrait was of Mikki Connell, my Grandson. It was taken from a photograph of Mikki when he was a toddler. I was drawn to this photograph because it showed a vulnerability in this sweet boy. But I’m not sure I captured it! I
